Hunter Mountain Resort has onsite lodging with plenty of rooms to accommodate all wedding guests! Rental Car

Driving

We recommend renting a car (or finding a friend who already has one) and enjoying the scenic drive from any of the airports along the Hudson River to the Catskills. There is so much to do in the region and having a car is the best way to explore. We recommend loading up any directions you will need ahead of time. Service can be spotty! Hunter Mountain is located approx. 2.5 hours NW of New York City, and 1 hour SW of Albany, in the northern Catskill Mountains of New York State. From the northbound or southbound New York State Thruway I-87, take exits 20 or 21, and expect a ride of approx. 45 mins to Hunter Mountain.

BUS

From the NYC area the most recommended public transport would be the bus via Trailways. It runs from Port Authority right to a stop across the street from the mountain! Please keep in mind that there is only one trip a day that currently has an 8:30am departure time from Port Authority and arrives at Hunter at 11:55am. For the return trip it is currently daily departing at 3:59pm and arriving at Port Authority at 7:40pm.

Trains

Taking the bus or driving are the most recommended ways to reach Hunter Mountain, but you can opt to ride Amtrak. Amtrak operates routes between Manhattan's Moynihan Trail Hall and Hudson, NY, with one-way travel typically scheduled for 2 hours; for Amtrak schedules and information, visit their website. Metro-North Railroad operates routes between Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal and Poughkeepsie, NY, with one-way travel typically scheduled for 1.5 hours.
