The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze: Hudson Valley

A live telling of Washington Irving's famous "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" outdoors at Irving's former home, Sunnyside.

Irvings "Legend"

This historic church has stain glass windows by Chagall and Matisse.

Union Church of Pocantico Hills

Visit Washington Irving's former home, Sunnyside.

Washington Irving's Sunnyside

Featured in "The Ledged of Sleepy Hollow" this church and churchyard were founded around 1685. It is the purported haunt of the headless horseman, and also the resting place of local citizens who likely inspired Irving’s characters.

Old Dutch Reformed Church

Right next door to the Old Dutch Church, but much, much larger and full of many famous people. In the past they have offered tours, including nighttime lantern tours, but not sure if that will be happening this year.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery

A beautiful Gilded Age mansion and grounds. Tours are opening back up in this fall. The grounds are lovely are over great views of the Hudson. The Westminster Dog Show was held there this past June.

Lyndhurst Mansion

A fall favorite. There are plenty of orchards within driving distance of the area. The link has some good recommendations.
