How we met

03/23/2017

We met during an escape room at UWGB. My group of friends had signed up for the escape room but we had a missing person. One of our mutual friends stated that his roommate could come and participate in the game. Aaron then showed up. I don't think either of us at the time really noticed each other. I started hanging out with our mutual friends more and he eventually became roommates with them as well. We started spending time together with all of our friends and eventually started hanging out just the two of us. Aaron will admit that he had a crush on me long before I realized. Aaron eventually mustered up the courage to tell me how he felt and we decided to see how it would go! I was hesitant, as Aaron and I had become really good friends but that's always a good base for a relationship. Aaron then asked me to be his girlfriend on March 1st!

The proposal

01/13/2020

My family had taken it's first family vacation to Negril, Jamaica. Initially, I had a suspicion that Aaron might propose in Jamaica but after getting there, I had stopped thinking about it because let's face it, there was no way that I would not have seen him pack the ring. On Sunday, everyone had decided to take a catamaran ride. What I didn't know, was that Aaron had wanted to propose to me during this ride but I had given my bag (and the ring) to the Captain to keep in the boat. Oops :). The following day, everyone went to Xtabi to check out where we would be going for a nice dinner the following night and to see the caves. After looking at the caves, I had decided to get a drink and asked my grandma if she wanted one as well; her answer was no. So, while I was getting myself and Aaron a drink, he had pulled out the ring and asked my grandma and my cousin Katie, if this was the best place to propose. My grandma, crying, needed to buy more time to get her s*** together (lol just kidding). She wanted to help determine the best place for him to ask, so she sent Shorty to tell me she "changed her mind and wanted a drink". This was totally normal and something my grandma would do. After sitting down, my grandma had asked if Aaron and I could go down by the cliffs so that she could take a picture. AGAIN, something she would do. So irritated that I just sat down, I stomped down to the cliffs and totally missed Katie handing Aaron the ring. While on the cliff, he was standing behind me and shaking. At that moment, I just believed he had developed some weird new fear of heights. As I was turning to go back up the steps, Aaron called my name and after annoyingly saying "what??" he started telling me all of the things he loved about me and what our future would look like. I honestly blacked out during the rest but know I said, YES :) We can't wait to celebrate with you!
