Yes! Please see the 'Schedule' tab for more details.

Question

A formal invitation will be shared with RSVP details and deadline.

Question

When is the best time to purchase my flight to Antigua?

Answer

The earlier, the better! As the wedding will be held during peak travel season (Carnival), booking early—around 4 to 6 months out—can help you secure better deals.

Question

How to get to Antigua?

Answer

Antigua and Barbuda is conveniently accessible through V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU), which services flights from major cities including Miami, New York, Toronto, and London. However, please be mindful when booking, as specific airlines only operate on scheduled days. Upon arrival at the airport, you can easily reach your accommodation via taxi, with authorised taxis operating just steps away from the exit doors. Airlines Serving Antigua American Airlines: American Airlines and JetBlue provide flights from New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA), while United Airlines operates flights from Newark. UK Airlines: British Airways and Virgin Atlantic offer direct flights from London Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel to Antigua?

Answer

Travellers from the United States and Europe do not require a visa to enter Antigua and Barbuda for stays up to 180 days. However, you must have a valid passport (for at least six months beyond your date of entry) and a return or onward ticket. It's always a good idea to check for any updates or specific entry requirements before traveling!

Question

What currency is used in Antigua and Barbuda?

Answer

The currency used in Antigua and Barbuda is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD). It's often abbreviated as EC$ to differentiate it from other currencies. US dollars are also widely accepted in many places such as hotels and restaurants once in pristine condition, however, when making a purchase, you may receive your change in Eastern Caribbean Dollars and at a slightly lower exchange rate. Therefore, we recommend currency conversion once you arrive on island. The current exchange rate is approximately 1 USD = 2.70 XCD. Major credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard are commonly accepted at larger businesses. Still, it’s recommended to carry cash as Antigua remains predominantly a cash-based economy. ATMs are available for withdrawing XCD using international debit or credit cards, but keep in mind that they often charge significant transaction fees.

Question

How do I book accommodation?

Answer

Please see the 'Accommodation' tab for recommendations. However, feel free to book your accommodation independently, if desired. If you would like specific amenities at your accommodation, we would be happy to help you find a suitable option.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

You can expect warm and sunny weather, with average temperatures ranging from 85°F to 95°F — so lightweight clothing and sunscreen are essential! However, the island's wet season, which runs through August, brings occasional rain showers and humidity, but it’s still warm and often interspersed with sunshine.

Question

How do I get around the island?

Answer

Taxis and rental cars are the two main options for transportation around Antigua when visiting. Taxis: While ride-sharing apps are not used on island, formal taxis are a safe and reliable way to get around Antigua while you are here. They are readily available at major hotels, the airport, and popular tourist spots. Taxis are easily identifiable by their licence plates, which follow the format “TX ----.” They operate 24/7, making them accessible at any time. Often, guests may build relationships with drivers and choose to exchange information. Taxi fares will vary based on distance and time of day. Short trips can start around XCD 50 (USD 20), while longer journeys can cost up to XCD 140 (USD 50) or more. It’s always recommended to agree on the fare before starting your ride. Cash payment is required, and both XCD and USD are accepted once in pristine condition. Rental Cars: For those seeking more independence and flexibility, renting a car is a great option. Renting is often more affordable and gives you greater control over your schedule compared to using taxi services. There are various car rental agencies on the island, which can be found on platforms like Expedia, Kayak, and TripAdvisor. Keep in mind that renting a car in Antigua requires obtaining a temporary driver’s license and paying a fee to the Transport Board. Your rental agency will guide you through the process and provide any needed information.
