It all began at Schmoll’s 8 Ball in High Ridge. I (Jordan) was hanging out with a group of friends playing some pool when Nicks friend dared him to come over and talk to me. I thought he was a creepy city boy and wanted nothing to do with him. A few weeks later we run into him and his friends again at Johnnys Hideout, but this time he left with my number. We talked everyday and soon became inseparable, spending our evenings after work on the big river and nightly bonfires with our friends. It was the best summer of our lives. Fast forward 10 months to St Patrick’s day, the day that changed everything. I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant and was scared to death but seeing how excited Nick was made me know this was right. That was the roughest 9 months of my life and he was there for everything. Making food that I would most likely make me nauseous and not end up eating, getting out of bed to fill up my water in the middle of the night, to rubbing my swollen feet when I couldn’t walk anymore. I couldn’t have done it without him. June of 2024 we moved out to Union Missouri to be closer to my parents (free babysitters) and got our first townhome together. On November 19th 2024, our miracle baby was born, Wyatt Hays Douglas completed us. As we began our journey of parenthood, I kept making jokes about going to the courthouse on a random Saturday and getting married, but we knew we wanted all of our favorite people to be there with us. Nick eventually got tired of my jokes and asked me to marry him on May 8th 2025 during our family pictures.
