Emily and I met in third grade at French Creek Elementary. She moved away shortly after and I didn’t see her again until middle school. We had the same home room in eighth grade and I had the biggest crush on her but could never make a move. I finally got the courage to start talking to her the summer before our senior year of high school and after a bunch of cancellations and rescheduling, we went on our first date. We sat in my truck for hours just talking until around 3 in the morning (not sure her dad realized how late it was). There wasn’t a single awkward pause or uncomfortable moment and I just knew in that moment she was the one. Two days later I asked her to be my girlfriend and the rest is history.
Pre-pandemic, we had planned a trip to Ireland for this week with Justin's family. After spending 4 months at home and having our Ireland plans cancelled, we decided to take a much needed vacation to Robbins, Tennessee with our two dogs, Ruger and Tread. Emily found a cute cabin in the mountains with a beautiful back deck that overlooked a quiet pond. It was on this back deck that Justin got down on one knee and asked Emily to spend the rest of her life with him.
