Our story began in December of 2022 at an iconic Dallas bar on Greenville Ave Stan’s Blue Note. It was the kickoff to the Christmas season, and Gio was taking part in the annual Santa Bar Crawl. The only catch? It was pouring rain that day the kind that soaks through everything and makes you question your life choices… unless you’re dressed like Santa. My sister Katie and I had the perfect bar top table, front row seats to the chaos of Greenville Avenue in the rain. We were cozy, dry, and happily people watching when Gio walked into Stan’s. Rain dripping, Santa gear on, and probably a little buzzed from the holiday spirit, he had no idea he was walking straight into the beginning of our story. Our first date was a week later at a Mavericks game. In March we became boyfriend and girlfriend. We traveled often, went to concerts, explored art museums, spent sunny lake days together, and shared hundreds of meals. We celebrated milestone birthdays, navigated holidays with family and friends, and along the way I even sold my house as we began building a life side by side. But most importantly, through all of those moments, we discovered a deep and special love for one another. In August of 2025, we traveled to Tulum. What I didn’t know was that Gio had already asked my parents for their blessing and had secretly designed and picked out the most beautiful engagement ring. During that trip, in one of the most meaningful moments of our lives, Gio got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and of course, I said yes.
