Turin, the first capital of Italy, is filled with history, art, and traditional eateries. Not to mention, Turin is especially dear to Gio, as he studied in the city for several years. We highly recommend taking a day trip walking along the River Po and through Piazza Vittorio Veneto or Piazza Castello in the heart of the city. We spent an afternoon at the Basilica of Superga which had one of the most breath taking views of the city and surrounding mountains. We have plenty of additional recommendations of places to see in the city if you would like more information.
Fontanafredda is the beautiful vineyard where we will be hosting our wedding reception. We have scheduled a vineyard tour and wine tasting for anyone who wants to participate on Thursday June 24th at 11:00am. There are a minimum of 12 spots for the tour, so the more the merrier! Please let us know if you would like to attend! Fun fact: Gio's friend, Giacomo, gifted us a tour to Fontanafredda our first trip together to Italy, and had the most amazing evening walking through the cellars, learning about the wines, and of course, tasting! We highly recommend taking the tour.
La Bula - A recommendation from Gio's family for fresh fish. Converso - One of the oldest bars in Italy, known for their cocktails. Caffe Posta - We might be biased, but we love this cafe. Gio's very talented cousin, Adelaide, works here as a pastry chef. Grab a coffee and croissant and say hi! Osteria La Pimpinella - Another recommendation from Gio's family for traditional Piedmontese cuisine. La Boqueira - Gio's recommendation for a quick Mediterranean lunch. 480Grandi - This is the place to go for traditional Neapolitan style pizza. Antico Cafe Boglione - Great location in the heart of downtown for a happy hour. Osteria del Boccondivino - Gio's parents took us to this amazing restaurant our very last night in Bra. Known for their Salsicca and Tajarin. Talamini Cafe - We still talk about the amazing appetizers and cocktails we had here. Highly recommend for aperitivo! Bar Caffetteria da Paolo e Dany - Home to Jaclyn's favorite croissant and breakfast pastries.
Alba is a town about 20 minutes from Bra. It's a beautiful place to spend a morning taking a walk through the cobblestone streets, visiting shops, and of course, eating. Alba hold's a special place in Jaclyn's heart as it is home to Vincafe, the first restaurant she ever had a plate of Plin. Ristorante Museum is another local eatery that we highly recommend in the city as well.
