Nelson and I met about 12 years ago as a result of our two churches often participating in each other’s services. If you ask me, I'd say that I never really noticed him beyond being a friendly guy that was always cooking, and he'll confess that I might have caught his eye but quickly brushed off the idea. Through the years, our encounters were platonic and infrequent. In the past couple of years, God brought us both through some tumultuous times, filled with loss, pain and difficult lessons. Looking back now, we understand that God was molding us individually to become the people we needed to be prior to reconnecting later in life. In the beginning of this year, as I scrolled endlessly through my Facebook page, I came across a familiar face with a positive outlook and a warmth to him that I hadn't noticed before. With a little nudge from an encouraging friend, we reconnected and thus began the whirlwind of our beautiful journey. From that first meet-up, we instantly knew that it was God’s will for our paths to once again cross, and to find our answered prayers in each other. We got engaged in July, and here we are today, as we count down the days until our forever "I do!". To God be the glory, for "though weeping endures for a night, joy comes in the morning!"(Psalms 30:8) and though "My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you" (Job 42:5)
