Our Story

We always knew of each other. Whether it was following each other on social media over the years or having an occassional run-in at Sushi Yama, the name and face of the other was definitely known in both of our minds. Ian likes to argue that he had a crush on me first and for the longest... but trust me my 8th grade self has him beat! One of our beloved mutual friends, who we are honored to have stand beside us on wedding day, finally connected us in March of 2024. Ian immediately set up a Sushi Yama first date (can you tell we're both from Baton Rouge) and the rest is history! Through countless FaceTime calls and Spirit airline tickets, we tackled long-distance and began dating from 1,022 miles away. Annapolis (and our phones) became the place that would hold the majority of our love. It's where we were deepened, challenged, nourished and ultimately able to start dreaming of a future together. A future that would bring long-distance to an end. (We're almost there!) On November 29th, 2025, Ian asked me the best question I've ever been asked, in which I tearfully squealed YES! His thoughtfulness, tenderness and kindness leading up to and on that day are a gift I will never forget. And thanks to the beautiful photos and videos from our amazing Max and Madeline, I never will! We continue to be amazed by the Lord's kindness and sovereignty in blessing us with each other. Our prayer is that He will be praised, thanked and honored on July 25 as we make our covenant, and we cannot wait to have you be a part of it. Thank you, WE LOVE Y'ALL!
