Jake and Monica met at a Halloween party on Jake’s birthday, November 2, 2018. After some time went by the two met again at a bar called On the Rocks where everyone was out for Thanksgiving Eve. After so smoothly easing his way into the conversation with Monica and her girls, Jake bought her a beer…and so it began. Monica and Jake dated for about a year before moving in to a 550 square foot barn together on their friend Alec’s property. They would spend the next two-three years making memories, laughing and learning a lot about each other. Living in such small quarters will do that. Eventually it was time to upgrade, so Jake and Monica moved into their home in Rindge, NH. Not soon after they decided to get a dog. At first, Jake was extra precautious and uneasy about getting a furry friend but as soon as the pair met Koda, there was instant unconditional love. After 5 years of dating, multiple career changes, countless getaways, hikes and explorations later, Jake took Monica to her favorite place in the world, Lake Willoughby in Westmore, Vermont. They went out for the day kayaking the deepest lake in Vermont, enjoying the crystal clear water and beautiful weather while Koda sun bathed in between their legs in the front of the boat. Eventually Jake suggested they stop at some boulders on the shoreline to take a break. After some time, waiting for the perfect moment, Jake asked “You think we can all fit on that rock to take a picture?” and Monica said “Yes.” He finally got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and it was the most beautiful moment of their lives. They are now welcoming you to be a part of the second most beautiful day of their lives, the day they say “I do!”.
