We met through a mutual friend by convincing David to meet Ginger (who was only in town for one night!) and her friend at a Hookah Lounge. We definitely knew we had a connection, which was sealed with a kiss at the end of that night! Sparks flew when our eyes met, and every time since.
Obviously we became inseparable. He couldn't even wait a full week until he asked her to be his girlfriend. It was pouring rain, in the middle of the street, but she couldn't help but say yes. The next weekend, he came to Taos to meet the family and Chief! Everyone loved him (still do thankfully!) and he stayed around despite the NUMEROUS threats from Ginger's much too over protective family.
A little early, but Ginger and Chief needed a place to go and David had the solution (which is a theme throughout our relationship). We moved in with David's best friend Rj, with permission of mom and dad of course. Potty training Chief proved to be a challenge with Chief, but Ginger and David made great puppy parents as a team!
Our little family got a little bigger when Chief gained his brother, Beau Duke. As everybody knows, we love our fur babies more than anything! They continue to be spoiled and loved every single day.
Most of you were here this incredible day to say goodbye as they were off to Wisconsin to start a new chapter in their book. It was here, in front of all of their family and friends, where he almost passed out as he asked her to become his wife. She told him "About damn time." They kissed and daddy cried (tears of happiness... we think).
In order to follow Ginger's dream of being an occupational therapist, David convinced us to pack up and move 1200 miles to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although exhausting, it was well worth it!
Three years of missing Christmases, birthday, big and little moments, we decided it is time to move back home. We cannot wait to spend more time with our families in New Mexico! Chief and Beau Duke are also very excited to have their own backyard!
