For the longer story, please see Albert. He and I went to the same community college in North Titusville. We both knew a little family diner in the same area (I knew of it through my sister who worked there, and Albert through a co-worker). Every Tuesday after my class, I would wait an hour at the restaurant for my sister until she was done with her shift (we shared a car). The first Tuesday of the school year I went and sat down in the back corner. Unknowingly, Albert was there a couple tables down. When Giselle introduced him to me, I gave him a shyly smile; he gave me an overly friendly wave and a, "Hi, how you doing?" We talked a little but nothing connected. As the weeks went by, every Tuesday I would wait for my sister and some days I would see Albert sitting at my usual spot. When he wasn't there, I felt a little sad and I didn't know why. Halloween crept up, and I considered inviting him to my family's Halloween party to play DnD - one of Albert's favorite games. He accepted. I was starting to develop a crush on him. Halloween night, my family and friends played my dad's adventure game. I planned on asking him out that night, but I was too nervous. Instead, I texted him before midnight after he had left the party. He replied yes, but we made it official the next Tuesday I saw him at the restaurant.
At the beginning of the week, he told me he was taking me out to treat me after I was working some hard shifts at work. Before we went on our date, we went to our usual church for Saturday night mass. He then took me to a nice restaurant on the river and ordered my favorite drink. Once I noticed the ring in the drink, I picked it up and realized the center diamond was missing! I turned to him with a concerned look, and he asked, "What happened? Did you drink it?" Obviously, no! I searched around the table and the bottom of the glass. He started to reach in his pocket and said, "Here, maybe this will help," and proceeded to pull out another ring with a center diamond and two rubies. I was flabbergasted! He got on one knee, and I said yes! We are so excited to share this day with you!
