Mike and Gina first became friends while volunteering at a local rock climbing gym. Mike was living with his good friend Emmet in Lakewood and recently started his new job at Insight2Profit. Gina recently finished her Physician Assistant program and was working at downtown UH Rainbows. Mike is working the front desk and Gina is wanting to buy some Mitchell’s ice cream. Mikes first impression: This girl sure eats a lot of Mitchell’s ice cream at the climbing gym. Gina’s first impression: This guy is always smiling, he sure is a happy guy.
A year after their first interaction, Mike and Gina randomly met during a mutual friend’s night out. They started hanging out in group settings and eventually, Gina asked Mike to help her pick up a mirror from Facebook marketplace (since he had an SUV). Mike was secretly happy that Gina asked him for help, since he was five hours into a friend’s Lord of the Rings marathon (director's cut edition) and needed an escape plan. Looking back, this turned out to be their first date. They went to a local Mediterranean market, picked up the mirror, walked around Tremont, and had a drink at the Spotted Owl (RIP).
Mike bought a house which was quite the fixer upper. Gina spent many days and hours helping Mike with his home renovations. This included painting, caulking, and proving the most difficult: plumbing. So much so that Mike’s parents came over to offer some help. This was the first time Mike’s parents met his “friend” Gina.
Seven months later after hanging out everyday: On the way to Mike’s parents house for Father’s Day, Gina asked Mike: “Isn’t it a little strange for me to be going to your parent’s on Father’s Day?” Mike responded, “You’re right… do you want to just be my girlfriend?”
All of Mike and Gina’s hard work paid off when Mike decided to sell his house and move into Gina’s townhome to save some money. Around the same time, Gina‘s younger brother Bryan got an aerospace job at NASA and moved from California into the second unit of the townhome.
Gina planned a trip to California to go to San Diego with her friends and family. Mike decided that this was the perfect time to pop the big question. He had purchased the ring about a month prior and asked her dad the first night there. On the trip, Mike found a secluded area where he proposed.
Mike and Gina decided to buy a house together! After Mike’s good friend and realtor Cory showed them several houses and Gina was starting to give up on finding their (maybe) forever home, they found the perfect house! And it came with a pool!
