For a taste of local flavor, stop by Bodega Bay for some renowned clam chowder and seafood sandwiches! On the way there, consider stopping at Valley Ford Creamery for cheese and Bodega Bay Oyster Company for fresh oysters!
Sol Food
One of our favorite places to eat when I'm in the North Bay. In the morning, their Pan Frances (coconut milk french toast) is perfection. For lunch/dinner, Gina loves to get the Vegetariano combo plate with black beans and tostones con mojo (fried plantains with garlic). Eric loves the bistec sandwich. Don't forget to try it with their pique sauce!
Sugo Trattoria
Novato is not that far from Petaluma! Enjoy some wine tasting in the area and grab lunch/dinner at Gina's favorite place to get chicken piccata.
Sushi Ran
If you love sushi and want to splurge, Gina and Eric love to eat sushi here if they can get a reservation at the sushi bar for omakase. You can also upgrade to have them use freshly grated wasabi for your omakase, which was worth the additional cost.
Fairfax
No specific restaurants to recommend, but this is a very cute little town that's nearby Novato and fun to walk around and explore!
Sausalito
A beautiful area near the water that is worth a visit if you have time. The downtown is beautiful to walk around and explore!
