We are so happy you are here! Not all of us have met so here is a little about Alex & Gina. Gina was born and raised in Tuolumne County and has a 16-year-old daughter named Zoё. Gina comes from a large family, her parents Scott and Gina (Sr.) have 5 children (Gina being the youngest), 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren! Gina works in Sales and Marketing for Zoo-phonics, an early childhood literacy program founded in Tuolumne County. Her hobbies include crafting, cooking, and true crime podcasts! Alex was also born in Tuolumne County and was predominantly raised in the Sonora area. Alex is the youngest child of Sandra and the late Dave Perkins. His older sister Sarah and her husband have two beautiful children who adore time with Uncle Alex. Alex works as a diesel mechanic for Sierra Pacific Industries. He has many hobbies including barbequing, brewing beer, and making hot sauce. Together as a family, they enjoy kayaking, hiking, art, and anything that makes them laugh! They have a very tight family bond that includes their beloved pets.
Alex and Gina met in November of 2015 while working at the Bourbon Barrel bar and restaurant in Sonora. After finding they often finished each other's sentences and had similar (strange) senses of humor, they began spending time together outside of work. Gina had a health scare and a short hospital stay that brought the pair closer. Shortly after Gina's release, they went on their first official date at In 'N Out Burger on January 7th, 2016!
Gina knew her dream emerald engagement ring had been purchased but did not know when it would be delivered or how Alex was going to surprise her. While attending a friend's wedding in downtown Sonora, Gina mentioned that she did not want Alex to ask her at home, but also not in front of a bunch of people. Little did she know Alex's plan was already in action and the ring was in his pocket. Upon leaving the beautiful wedding they walked past the place they first met. Gina stopped to look inside the building and as she turned around Alex was down on one knee.
