Question

What is a Vidhi?

Answer

In Gujarati Hindu weddings, Vidhi refers to pre-wedding prayers, blessings and ceremonies, to protect us in our married life together.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Vidhi - Fri, Oct 31 Join us for a celebration of love and heritage! We welcome all of our guests to embrace traditional Indian attire, or vibrant, festive Western outfits. If you would like to join us in embracing Gujarati customs by wearing traditional Indian attire, we suggest a lehenga, anarkali suit, or sharara set for women, and for men kurta, sherwani, and vests. For those who prefer western style clothing, colorful, cheerful outfits will match the tone of the day. For women this could be maxi dresses or flowy pantsuits, and for men dress pants and shirts (preferably avoiding black and white). As the event takes place at a Mandir (temple) please ensure shoulders and knees are covered, and be prepared to remove shoes - going barefoot or in socks/stockings are appropriate, whichever you are more comfortable with. Wedding - Sat, Nov 01 Celebrate with us in your finest traditional Indian or cocktail attire! The ceremony will be outside, weather permitting, followed by cocktails, dinner and dancing indoors. The average daily high for Nov 1 in Atlanta is around 70F (21C).
