Elizabeth and Brandon’s story began in the Summer of 2010 at Campus by the Sea on Catalina Island. Brandon likes to say that the first time he saw Elizabeth was on the basketball court, and he immediately developed a crush. Sadly, neither of them spoke to each other that week at camp, but they were able to go on a few “dates” later that summer after a few Facebook messages. Then, as quietly as it started, it ended. Elizabeth pulled away; however, he never fully disappeared from her mind. From Brandon’s point of view, it was a classic ghost situation. Over the years, he became a guy she would randomly think about. A small “what if” tucked away in the background while life continued. They went their separate ways, grew up, built their own lives, and for 14 years their paths didn’t cross again. Things changed in April of 2024 when Elizabeth decided to give Bumble one more try, not expecting much. And then to her surprise, Brandon showed up. The two matched but the match expired because Elizabeth didn’t send a message within 24 hours. It could have ended there, but Elizabeth wasn’t quite ready to let it go. She found him on Instagram and decided to like one of his photos. It was at this point that Brandon decided to take matters into his own hands and send her a message. From there, everything unfolded. There was a dinner at Katella Deli in Los Alamitos and a walk near the beach. They were off and running, and after 14 years, the timing was right.
