Things To Do

Church Street Marketplace

Church Street Marketplace

131 Church Street, Burlington, VT 05401
Mt. Philo State Park

Mt. Philo State Park

5425 Mount Philo Road, Charlotte, VT 05445

The short (30 minute) hike to the top of Mt. Philo is the best bang-for-your-buck hike near Burlington/Winooski. On a clear day you can see all the way across Lake Champlain to the Adirondack Mountains of NY.

Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park

20 Lake Street, Burlington, VT 05401

Take a stroll along Waterfront Park to see beautiful Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains of NY across the lake. A late summer/early fall stroll in VT wouldn't be the same without a pit stop to get a maple creemee (soft serve ice cream) at Burlington Bay Cafe.

Local Motion Bike Rentals

Local Motion Bike Rentals

1 Steele Street, Burlington, VT 05401

The waterfront bike path extends about 3 miles south and 3 miles north of Waterfront park, with Oakledge Park and Flynn Avenue restaurants/cafes in the south and North Beach Park in the north good riding destinations. Rent a bike and ride along the shores of Lake Champlain for beautiful views. If you're feeling ambitious you can ride all the way to the Colchester causeway, a rail trail that extends out into the lake (surrounded by water) towards the Champlain Islands (there's even a bike ferry on weekends to take cyclists to South Hero Island). This is a truly spectacular spot to visit.

North Beach Park

Burlington, VT 05401

Beautiful place to walk - and easy to bike to from downtown.

Oakledge Park

Burlington, VT 05401

Another nice lakeside park along the Burlington bike path.

Sneakers Bistro

28 Main Street, Winooski, VT 05404

Great Winooski spot for breakfast/brunch.

Athens Diner

46 Highpoint Center, Colchester, VT 05446

Classic diner.

Pho Dang Vietnamese Cafe

348 Main Street, Winooski, VT 05404

Great option for dinner - Vietnamese, BYOB.

Burlington Bay Market & Cafe

125 Battery Street, Burlington, VT 05401

Stop in for a creemee (VT soft serve). Maple flavored creemee couldn't get much more Vermont.

Rock Point Hiking Trails (lakeside hiking)

Rock Point Hiking Trails (lakeside hiking)

This is a beautiful (fairly easy) loop through the woods that gives gorgeous view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks via lakeside cliffs. Park just past the Rock Point School near the fields and walk up the dirt road to access.

Red Rocks Park (lakeside hiking)

Red Rocks Park (lakeside hiking)

4 Central Ave, South Burlington, VT

This is a beautiful loop through the woods that gives gorgeous views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks via lakeside cliffs. Highly recommend.

Nomad Cafe & Bakery

208 Flynn Ave, Burlington, VT

Award-winning baker makes incredible pastries to go along with coffee/tea. Take it to go and enjoy it with a nice view down the road at Oakledge Park!

For all the days along the way
