It all began on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, in Davis, California. Their paths crossed at the local college bar, University of Beer. Gillian and her roommate, Laura, were kicking off the start of their final semester with a night out. Lucas and his friends, Nathaniel and Gordon, arrived a little later to catch up over a few brewskis as well. When Gillian got up to fetch another round, she spotted Lucas from across the bar and thought he was the most handsome guy she had ever seen. Thus, she and Laura devised a plan: Gillian took a trip to the restroom, which just so happened to cross paths with Lucas's table. As she strode by him, she gave him a flirtatious look, which Lucas returned. Gordon and Nathaniel knew what Lucas needed to do, and demanded he go talk to her at once. When he finally gathered the courage to go over to her table and eventually ask for her phone number, she gladly said yes. Two weeks later, Gillian and Lucas had their first date, where they quickly bonded over their love for adventuring, craft beer and soft pretzels, and a few low quality youtube shows (Neature Walks and Real Bros of Simi Valley). Over the past three years, Gillian and Lucas have built a beautiful home together in Champaign, IL, where they enjoy exploring new places, evening walks in the park, and watching Survivor. They have adopted two cats together, Goose and Gator. They have traveled to many new places, their favorites being Kauai, Banff National Park, San Diego, and most recently Custer State Park in South Dakota! They are now excited to devote the rest of their lives to each other, celebrate their love with their closest family and friends, and discover the rest of their love story still unwritten.
