How We Met

May 2023 (Madison's Perspective)

Tim and I have different perspectives on this story, but I'm writing this, so here is mine. We both happened to be on the dating app Hinge, and on this app, you both have to "swipe right", AKA hit like, in order to start a conversation. I was the first one to hit like, but he shortly followed. I was at the bar with a friend when I checked if he had responded, and sure enough, he did. Once I left the bar with my friend, I didn't think much of the app after that. My notifications were turned off, so I didn't respond for a while, and I forgot to check it. This is where our stories differ because he's convinced I ghosted him... A week or so later Keri, Caity, and I were back at the local bar in Logan, Utah. Being the outgoing girl she is, Keri spotted someone worth talking to, so we went over to talk to them. A few minutes go by, and I go to bring her back to our group, and there he was, Timothy Cameron. At first glance, he looked familiar, and I soon realized he was the guy I messaged on Hinge, and Keri quickly pointed out they were already aware of this. We ended up hanging out as a group for a few hours, and it didn't take long for us to hang out again. From there, we have only grown stronger, and I could not wish for a better partner in life.

The Proposal

August 2025 (Timothy's Perspective)

From the moment after hanging out with Madison, I knew she was a super special Human. She has a heart for animals like no one that I'd ever met, which is what initially really attracted me to this fiery redhead. I knew after our first week of getting to know each other that I wanted to make this Beautiful woman my wife one day. After dating for almost two years we went on a cruise to Mexico where I was planning on asking for her hand in marriage. The proposal was supposed to take place on a beach in Cabo San Lucas; but do to us arriving as a hurricane was about to hit Cabo, plans had to change and my mind was freaking out about how to propose on a dang cruise ship... Luckily Madison's mom was the ultimate Wing-Woman and spoke to guest services about my predicament. The cruise ship allowed me to use the Captains Galley as the new proposal location, it was set up as a fake tour, we were escorted to the off-limits section. To say that I was nervous would be the biggest understatement, Madi turned around to look out at the sea and I got down on one really shaky knee. I had practiced what I was going to say countless times in my head, as I was kneeling waiting anxiously for a response from Madi, she just kept staring at me and that's when the realization sunk in that I had said what I wanted to say but had forgotten the part about "Will You Marry Me?". Thankfully she said Yes and I still question her sanity about it. I love you Madison Taylor Gillman and I can't wait to marry you!
