This is a fun nature hike! See the natural flora of Ventura. This is a fairly easy hike and has spectacular views of the Ventura Coast line and the Channel Islands. The trail leads up to the infamous viewpoint referred to as The Cross. The trailhead is behind the Ventura City Hall. This is where you will also find parking.
Spencer and I had one of our first dates at the Harbor Village. This place is dear to our hearts and full of fun! There are fun shops, amazing vessels, a carousel with an arcade, delicious restaurants, stunning views, and paddle boat rentals. Check out the website and see what might tickle your fancy! PS- Andrea's Fish and Chips will be sure to satisfy your seafood craving. Also be sure to stop by the The Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center at Channel Islands National Park to learn about the unique features of the islands nearby.
This iconic spot is home to one of the longest piers in California and a long paved promenade that extends the downtown shores of Ventura. Whatever you do, make certain to walk the pier of Ventura before the end of your visit. You will get an amazing view of the Channel Islands, and stunning sights of the seaside. Nearby at Surfer's Point you will see professional and local surfers riding the waves, and even dolphins! There are also two restaurants on the Pier. Eric Ericsson's has been the place to take the one you wish to impress (nod to Spence for treating me to this spot many a time). It has delicious food, stunning views, and a great bar. Or if you want a quick bite while at the Pier, check out The Beach House Tacos. This place is always busy, so you know its good!
Truly, it is a challenge to list all of the many fantastic ways to enjoy your time in Ventura. It really comes down to you and your interests. Maybe you want to snuggle up to a good book and cuppa warm beverage, listening to sounds of the waves. Or perhaps you want to take on the bike trail from Ventura up to the well known artisan town of Ojai. All I know is that we are so lucky to share in the magic of our wedding day with you, and it is our wish that you enjoy the magic that a seaside vacation can offer. The website link offers a top ten list from fellow visitors. It is a good jumping off point, and perhaps by the time you return home you will have your own top ten list.
In case you missed this on the Travel page, here is a link to the downtown Ventura website. This link goes directly to the Downtown Ventura Dining and Entertainment Map section of the website. Have fun exploring!
