While the world was dealing with the uncertainty of COVID-19, Juli (Isaac's cousin and one of Rebecca's closest friends) was scheming on how to get the two of them together. She sent Rebecca a message mentioning that if interested, she had a cousin that she thought would be a good fit for her. After an exchanged snapchat, Isaac & Rebecca chatted for a bit but nothing ever came of it. Throughout the next few years they would be invited to the same parties and would run in the same circles but never looked in each others direction. One night, Isaac replied to a snapchat story that Rebecca posted and they got to talking. After he laid on some smooth lines, he asked if he could call her on the phone. The next night they talked for hours and scheduled their first date. Although it was a few weeks away, they talked every day leading up to it. The first date went just as well as the phone call, and ended with a first kiss straight out of a movie. Empty parking lot, light snowfall, twinkly Christmas lights and romantic music in the background. From that day forward, they were pretty much inseparable.
Rebecca & Isaac try to make it to Isaac's family camp a few times a year, and took Labor Day weekend as a time to do so. They spent Friday night around a fire with his parents and some of their closest friends - little did Rebecca know, Isaac's brother Jake, and his cousins Juli and Olivia were setting up their apartment for the following day. The couple woke up the next morning, had a Jaimie Warner camp breakfast (if you know, you know) and chatted about the days plans over coffee. Rosanne (Isaac's mom) and Rebecca went antiquing for the better part of the morning while Isaac stayed back. Once Rebecca returned, they packed up the car to head home. Isaac was very particular about the time they arrived home, and no extra stops were allowed to be made. They pulled up to the apartment to unload the car, and were greeted with "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole playing on their record player. Rebecca was very confused as the record player hadn't been used in months and their neighbors definitely wouldn't be listening to that song. Rebecca said to Isaac "Do you hear that music playing?" "What music?" he replied. She opened the door to their apartment to multiple vases of roses, what seemed like hundreds of candles, and the most beautiful ceiling arrangement of greenery and linens. Rebecca dropped what was in her hand, turned around, and saw Isaac on one knee. It was truly one of those moments that they will remember forever.
