Our story is a series of “almosts” dating all the way back to elementary school. Austin and I were always on the periphery of one another’s lives. Just 6 months apart in age, we were placed in different grades at Thorpe Gordon Elementary. We lived less than 5 miles apart our whole lives. We were in the same marching band in high school, but not the same concert band class. We had the same orthodontist, but never met in the lobby of Dr. Huber’s office. We even had friends in common, including exes. We knew of one another, but didnt really know one another. Which, in a high school as big as Jefferson City, is probably more common than you’d think. It wasn’t until 2018 when we met on Match.com that we realized what we had been missing out on for the past 20 plus years. Maybe we weren’t ready to properly fall in love until we did. Maybe the 20 years of coincidences and almosts was God’s way of preparing us for real love. I knew I was going to marry him on our second date. I think it took Austin until our third. We wouldn’t change our story for the world.
