While Brandon was living in Atlanta, Lexy was there for flight attendant training with Delta. After a long week of exams and emergency management training, her and some of her friends went out for some drinks at the Battery- a collection of bars and restaurants at the Braves stadium. Brandon was also there for a night out with his friends, and unaware of the fact that Lexy and her friends decided to fake Australian accents for the night! His friends came to talk to her friends, and Brandon and Lexy hit it off right away and realized they had a ton in common forcing the thought of "What am I going to do about my accent now? He's really cute and I kinda like him" to run through her head. They spent the whole night dancing, laughing, riding a mechanical bull and having the best time. Brandon asked Lexy for her number and when he called the next day to ask her on a date, she nervously told him that she wasn't Australian, but she for sure wanted to go on a date. Thankfully, Brandon thought it was hilarious and the rest is history.

Brandon and Lexy were at Higgins Lake with Brandon's family and group of close family friends for their annual vacation to celebrate the Fourth of July. Lexy is obsessed with the jetski, so as soon as she heard that Brandon was going to go put it in the water and ride it over to the cottage where the party was waiting, she got in the car with him to drive over to the dock. Once in the water, Brandon started idling towards the sandbar, and Lexy was thinking to herself "Wow, this is the most boring jetski ride ever". About a minute after that Brandon asked Lexy to stand up so he could check something with the motor, and she turned around out of confusion and when she turned back around, Brandon had the ring and proposed. After taking some time to celebrate, pray, and obviously to cry out of excitement, they rode over to all of the friends and family and apologized for taking so long to get back, THEY HAD A PRIOR ENGAGEMENT :)
