FAQs

We hope to clear up any questions you have. Please direct additional questions to gibandmadeline@gmail.com.
Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Your support means the world to us, and we do not expect any gifts. If you insist, we would love something small and fun that makes us think of you! If inspiration is needed, we are registered at Annie's Place Gift Shop in Tifton, Georgia (229-238-2851) and Marion Emporium in Marion, South Carolina (843-275-9899), where you can place an order over the phone. You can also visit our online Zola registry by clicking on the "Registry" tab on this website.

Question

By when should I RSVP?

Answer

After you receive your formal invitation later this summer, you will need to RSVP by September 1, 2025, on the Zola website by clicking the "RSVP" tab in the menu above.

Question

What should I do if I cannot attend?

Answer

We will miss you! If you originally RSVP’d ‘Yes’ but can no longer attend, please email us at gibandmadeline@gmail.com. We will also have a recording of the wedding that we will be happy to share!

Question

What should I do if I missed the RSVP deadline?

Answer

You are welcome to attend the wedding ceremony, but if you did not RSVP by September 1st, we have marked you as "not attending" the reception. Since we had to provide the caterer with a final guest count, we are unable to accept late RSVPs. This means you can still join us for the ceremony, but no seat or meal will be reserved for you at the reception. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Am I able to bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we can only accommodate a certain number of guests. Please only bring the individuals listed on your invitation and included on the RSVP portion of this website. Both will clearly indicate if a plus one is included. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! If your child is included in your RSVP, they are welcome to attend both the ceremony and reception. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will be held in a church and may last around 30 minutes.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5 PM. The church allows other nearby businesses to utilize their parking lot, so we recommend arriving around 4:15 to allow time for parking. We ask that guests are seated by 4:45.

Question

Will any part of the evening be outdoors?

Answer

No, both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors.

Question

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

Jacksonville's weather in early October can vary between the 60s and 80s, so we recommend checking the forecast ahead of time.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that you dress in semi-formal attire. Gentleman: Jackets and ties Ladies: Tea or knee length dresses, jumpsuits, or pantsuits Members of the military are welcome to wear service dress uniform. Our wedding color is blue. If you would like, you are welcome to join in the theme by wearing something blue!

Question

Am I allowed to take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you join us in an unplugged ceremony by silencing and putting away your phones once the ceremony begins. This allows everyone to be fully present and ensures our photographers can capture the best moments, which we will be happy to share with you. Once we move into our reception space, photos are highly encouraged!

Question

Will there be a celebration after the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We cannot wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people! Our reception will be held at 1937 Events and Venue. You can either walk the 0.6 miles or drive to 1937 (car pooling is encouraged). The venue has its own parking lot. Additional parking is also available at the business across the street, PRI. If you are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn or Homewood Suites (recommended on our travel page), we suggest parking at the hotel after the ceremony and walking to the reception. A cash bar will be available at the venue for those who would like to purchase a beverage. When you arrive, you will find a seating chart with your assigned table number. The space is cozy, so get ready for an intimate and lively evening!

Question

How will I sign your guest book?

Answer

Our guest book will take the form of a journaling Bible, which we will cherish as our family Bible. We invite you to be prepared to highlight and leave a note about your favorite verse. Your words will create a lasting treasure for our family. The guest book will be in the foyer of the church before the ceremony and relocate to the reception to allow plenty of time for signing.
