Gil had been living in Richmond, VA and commuting to Williamsburg, VA for work. Delaney, just graduated from The College of William and Mary, moved to Richmond to start PT school. Despite both of their connections to I64 East and West, it took a little app called Bumble to bring them together. What started as a debate about hot dogs being sandwiches or otherwise, turned into long messages back and forth getting to know one another. The couple shared their first date at Grandstaff and Stein, a speakeasy themed bar, and made things official a few weeks later at VMFA happy hour. There were many memories made throughout the remainder of their time in Richmond. They enjoyed live music, festivals, breweries, nature, and more. As PT school came to a close, Delaney got bit by the exploration bug and set her sights on the south. After visiting the city of Savannah together, they agreed to take a leap of faith and move in together in the Hostess City. In their new city, Gil and Delaney jumped head first into the ultimate frisbee community which have made the new place feel like their home. The couple have supported each other through job changes. They adopted Buzz, a wild and sweet bulldog mix. Through these life changes, their love has blossomed. Gil asked Delaney to marry him on Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, a special place to the pair as they had taken a day trip there soon after settling into Savannah. Afterwards, they had lunch at the popular restaurant Delaney's Bistro on St. Simon's Island. It was a beautiful day to mark the start of a lifelong commitment to each other.
