Miles and Amy met at the Honors College Orientation day at Brooklyn College in 2010. Miles was studying to get a BFA in Acting, and he was in the Brooklyn Scholars program. Amy was studying something (TBD at the time) and in the Macaulay Honors College program. They connected briefly during some kind of skit we had to do, but it wasn't really until afterwards, when we were all playing board games on the quad, that Amy introduced themself to Miles. Not long after, Miles's parents came and took him away--this would happen the first three times they met, which made Amy think Miles was maybe in a weird religious sect or something. (That turned out to not be true.) Miles and Amy also both moved into the Brooklyn College dorms, and that, plus both going to all the free events on campus, would lay the groundwork for a fast friendship.
