We're Getting Married

As crazy as it sounds… we met playing video games. What started as a simple introduction through his cousin (who was already friends with her) turned into something neither of us expected. If we’re being honest, she didn’t like him at first. At all. But he was curious, persistent, and asked a million questions about her life, her dreams, and everything in between. Somewhere between late-night conversations and endless laughter, walls came down — and feelings started to grow. Our journey to officially becoming us had a few unexpected twists, but every step led us exactly where we were meant to be. Our first date is a moment we’ll never forget. He drove all the way from Illinois to Wisconsin just to see her. When his car pulled into the parking lot, she didn’t walk — she ran. Hearts were racing on both sides of that car door. Before he even stepped out, a song started playing — ANGEL by Romeo Santos and Grupo Frontera. She had once told him that this song felt like “both of our worlds colliding,” since it brought together her favorite artist and one of his favorite groups. In that moment, it felt exactly like that — two completely different worlds meeting in perfect harmony. He stepped out, popped the trunk, and inside was a poster board, flowers, and a small gift box. And inside that box was a ring. Not the engagement ring — not yet. A promise ring. Maybe a little crazy for a first date… but to us, it felt natural. We both knew this wasn’t something casual. We were falling for each other more with every passing minute, and that ring was a promise that this was just the beginning. From early on, we both felt it — this was different. There was a sense of peace, of comfort, of knowing. Through every dream chased, every risk taken, and every mile driven, we’ve chosen each other over and over again. What started with video games turned into a love story neither of us would change for the world. Nuestro camino para convertirnos oficialmente en nosotros tuvo algunos giros inesperados, pero cada paso nos llevó justo a donde debíamos estar. Nuestra primera cita es un recuerdo inolvidable. Sabíamos que esto no era algo casual. Nos estábamos enamorando, y ese anillo era la promesa de que apenas estábamos comenzando. Desde el principio sentimos que esto era diferente.
