Our story began in a time when the world felt distant — a season of lockdowns, restrictions, and a longing for connection. In the middle of all that uncertainty, we found each other. People often hear the charming version: Gigi, the beautiful occupational therapy student at Bankstown Hospital, and Greg, the young doctor who couldn’t resist her smile. A cinematic glance across the ward, an instant connection, a bold invitation. It sounds like something from a romance film… and maybe that’s why we loved telling it. But the truth is uniquely ours — simple, genuine, and somehow even sweeter. During COVID, Gigi was based in the orthopaedic ward and Greg in paediatrics. The hospital café allowed only five people at a time. Doors were closed, hallways divided, and movement was restricted. We worked in the same building, yet lived in completely separate worlds. Our paths never crossed, not even once. Instead, fate brought us together online… and as soon as lockdown ended, Greg asked Gigi out. Day one. No second-guessing, no waiting.
