How we met!

05.18.18

We met through Pine Cove Christian Camps in the summer of 2018. We had both worked camp before, and were returning to work the first 5 weeks of camp on something called the WoBro team. This team consisted of 5 girls and 5 guys; 10 people in total. Needless to say, we all became very close and really good friends, and parting ways was very difficult to do. However, we were the lucky ones, because we parted from everyone else to work the next 6 weeks of camp together on a Camp in the City team; this team consisted of about 35 people. Over the course of those 11 weeks we became really good friends.

So it begins...

08.19.18

After summer we worked a retreat together in Tyler, TX. While there, he pulled me aside to talk and we ended up going on our first date that night. Just a few days later he met me in College Station and we went on our second date. Then two days after that he left the state of Texas to head back to school. We didn't start dating until about 2 months after these dates had happened, and we have dated and done engagement long distance the whole time. It is definitely not easy, but we are grateful for the mercies of God each and every day and the joy that is found in Him. Because of God's kindness, long-distance has been growing and challenging, but something we wouldn't change about our story.

Proposal

12.28.19

Alex and I were getting ready to go to dinner with my family that night. But we had wanted to have a date night instead, but that wasn't happening. So instead, he suggested we go for a walk through downtown and meet my family at the restaurant. So we began our sweet walk on a trail through Boerne that ends at the Main Plaza. We talked and laughed as we walked towards the Plaza, little did I know he was timing the walk for his proposal. As we walked towards the gazebo, we admired the Christmas lights still wrapped around trees and the Christmas tree still up by the fountain. He took me over to a bench where there was placed a ring box and a Bible; this Bible had my name with his last name on it, something I had always dreamed of getting when I was proposed to! He opened the Bible and read the Scripture that he had inscribed on my engagement ring and then got down on one knee and before I knew it my favorite man on this earth was asking to spend forever with me! Of course I said yes!!
