Wedding Party

Introducing our wedding party—the spectacular people in our lives who have helped make this day possible. In their own unique way, each has played a special role in our lives, and we are grateful to share this celebration with them!

Victoria Gibbs

Maid of Honor

Sophia’s oldest sister and fellow Central Mass sibling. Ms. Gibbs, as the children of the Worcester Public Schools call her, shares her heart with her students through her thoughtfully designed lesson plans. Artistically inclined, she is the queen of the Cricket.

Olivia Kelsey

Matron of Honor

Sophia’s middle sister who, along with her husband, Brian, represent two excellent reasons to visit the Great State of Ohio. Olivia's adventurous travels have taken her from Namibia to Beaver Creek and everywhere in between; her talent is locating the “hidden gems” wherever she finds herself.

Samantha Hunter-Gibbs

Bridesmaid

The blonde sister Sophia never had (thanks go to brother Tyler for getting married), fellow Starbucks lover, and newly minted mother of Conrad Robert. Sam is a New Jersey transplant in Virginia who works for the White House Historical Association. She has a rich passion for history - something that Sophia does not boast.

Emily Brady

Bridesmaid

Michael's youngest - and only - sister. The two maintain a near-telepathic connection, and have developed their own sense of humor. Emily is a math genius, music aficionado, animal lover, and master chef who claims she only follows the instructions on the box.

Kaeli Gusek

Bridesmaid

The littlest bridesmaid (by age) grew up across the street from Sophia; the two have become as close as sisters. A UVM student tour guide and renowned neighborhood baker, Kaeli the Catamount is the only earthly force strong enough to propel Sophia out of bed as early as 5:30 AM - for Starbucks, of course!

Meredith Barwin

Bridesmaid

Sophia’s Canadian best friend who enjoys bagged milk, ketchup chips, and the University of Guelph. She has a natural ability for bringing out Sophia’s wild side. Together they have explored the best of Boston and Toronto, the experience of purchasing a home, and now the preparation required for planning their weddings!

Thomas Hanlon

Best Man

Michael's thrill-seeking marathon training partner and roommate. When he isn't filling orders for his laser cutting side business, he can be found working on his RV conversion plan, Mount Everest ascent, skiing for two days without rest, or scheduling his next 100 mile race. Despite his boasts, he has never escaped from prison, nor has he been arrested.

Tyler Gibbs

Groomsman

Sophia’s older brother and her Gibbs Realty Inc. Supervisor - a role that, while not officially declared, is understood to be true. Though he lives on the Virginia side of the Potomac, Tyler is still employed by WPI and schedules his haircuts according to his visits home. He also excels in tormenting his little sister, as older brothers do, in the most caring way possible.

Brian Kelsey

Groomsman

Sophia's brother-in-law, courtesy of sister Olivia. Although a captain in the Air Force, a stipulation in Sophia's sister-in-law covenant includes the right to embarrass him at any given moment. A resident of landlocked southern Ohio, this Plymouth native loves the water at any temperature, and will brave frigid winter waves to satisfy his hanker.

Matthew Rabasco

Groomsman

Great pains were taken to obtain Worcester's most decorated professional triathlete for this ceremony. Michael's marathon training partner and motivational supporter has competed in Berlin, Alaska, and Hawaii, with trips to Chicago, London, and Tokyo on the horizon. If not for the dress code, he would be observed at the altar in neon yellow - his favorite color.

Remington Gaetjens

Groomsman

In recent years, Michael's "Down East" partner-in-crime has turned his interests to professional disc golf and hiking. Through Remi, Michael has developed a formidable resume of hikes for a non-hiker. Space is insufficient to include even one "Remi Story" here, but volumes could be filled on this legend of the WPI cross country team.

Jake Scarponi

Groomsman

Leaflets will be distributed before the ceremony outlining Jake's plan to unionize the wedding party. Michael's college teammate began his PhD journey in WPI's Washburn machine shops and has increasingly found himself on the picket line and leading area book clubs. In between, he fits in an occasional run and yodels along to ABBA.
