Some people meet by chance. Others meet because life has been quietly weaving their paths together all along. I attended Florida State University, while Tyler was a frequent visitor because his brothers, sister, and many of his closest friends were students there. Looking back, it's almost impossible to believe that our paths didn't cross sooner. For years, our lives seemed to run alongside one another. We found ourselves in many of the same places and shared countless opportunities to meet, yet somehow our story wasn't meant to begin just yet. Then, just three months before I graduated, we were finally introduced one evening. At the time, neither of us realized how important that moment would become. We met, shared a conversation, and went our separate ways. Life moved on, and for a while, that was the end of our story. Or so we thought. After graduation, our paths crossed again. What began as a simple reconnection quickly became something neither of us expected. From the very beginning, there was an undeniable connection between us. The conversations came naturally, the chemistry was effortless, and neither of us ever saw the other as "just a friend." Looking back now, it feels as though we were always meant to meet but only when the timing was right. There's a Japanese legend called the Red Thread of Fate, which says that two people destined to be together are connected by an invisible red thread. The thread may stretch, tangle, and twist through life's journey, but it can never be broken. No matter how many near misses, missed opportunities, or unexpected detours there are, the two people will eventually find their way to one another. Our story often feels a lot like that. For years, we unknowingly orbited each other's worlds. We were always just one introduction, one conversation, or one moment away from meeting. Yet life had its own timeline. We each had growing to do, lessons to learn, and experiences that would shape us into the people we were meant to become. Then, when the timing was finally right, life brought us back together. Some people call it fate. Others call it soul ties—a connection that exists long before two people fully understand it. Whatever the explanation, we both believe that certain people enter your life exactly when they're meant to. Not a moment too early and not a moment too late. What started as a brief encounter became a meaningful reconnection. From the moment we found our way back to one another, everything felt easy, natural, and meant to be. That connection grew into a love that has shaped our lives in ways we never imagined, and eventually led us here, to this next chapter. Now, surrounded by the people who have supported us throughout our journey, we are so excited to celebrate our love and begin our forever together on the beautiful shores of Lake Como.
