House Or Rental
Chris and Gianna and family have rented the 12-bedroom villa. We would be happy to host you at the villa or nearby VRBO rental. Keep in mind that with these accommodations, most people will have to share a bedroom with another person/couple. If you would prefer a private accommodation, we would be happy to assist you in finding a private stay that works for you.

**Update- ETIAS not required until late 2025/early 2025** Starting in mid-2025, US citizens traveling to Italy will need to register with the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) before entering Europe. You can do so by clicking on the link above. The ETIAS application process requires an application fee of 7 (EUR) euros. Payment is required to complete the application process. ETIAS will only accept electronic payments from your debit or credit card. Once payment is completed, most applicants will receive an approval within minutes. An approved ETIAS visa waiver will be valid for three consecutive years upon issuance. For more information visit the website: etias.com

Check in at the villa is 4pm on Friday May 9th. •If you are flying in that day, try to pick a late morning/early afternoon flight arrival so that we can easily arrange transport for most people at once. •Welcome dinner will be around 7pm that night. Check out at the villa is 10am on Tuesday May 13th. •If you are flying out that day, be mindful that the airport is about 1h30m away. We plan to coordinate with you and arrange transfers to and from the Florence airport/ train station/ city center. If you prefer to rent a car and drive, there is also plenty of parking at the villa. We drove to the villa from Florence. It is an easy drive if you don’t mind some curvy roads. Flights to and from Florence can be a little more costly, so if you plan to travel around, I suggest a better option would be to fly into or out of Rome and take the train to Florence instead. I’ve attached a list of flights from various airports that may be helpful in starting your search. Please let us know as soon as you book your flights. I can start arranging transport when the majority of people have booked. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!

• If you’re planning to stay in Italy longer than the wedding, Rome is a great central spot to fly in or out of. You can also find many more options for flights via FCO. • The train system in Italy is great and very easy to navigate. Italiarail.com is the main place to search for trains throughout Italy. You can book single train tickets, rail passes, and even tours. There are tons of internet forums to research best routes (train vs flight vs car) if you’re looking into going to another European destination. • Italia Tours from italiatours.com o If you’re going to Rome, check out the section Day Trips from Rome o I know some people want to visit Pompeii, this is a great option for a visit there. Rome to Pompeii Tour by High Speed Train https://italiatours.com/tour/rome-to-pompeii-tour-with-wine-and-lunch-by-high-speed- train/ o You can also find tons of tours throughout Rome on this website for the colosseum, Vatican, catacombs, etc. o If you’re planning to fly both into and out of Florence, Italia Tours offer options from there as well. • Hop on hop off bus tours are a great way to see the highlights of a big city. If you are planning on going to Rome, Big Bus Tours offer a variety of sightseeing tours of the city. Website https://bigbustours.com/en/rome • Flight search tips: I like to search for my flights one-way only, that way you are not limited to one airline’s flight schedules and prices. I usually start my search on Google Flights https://www.google.com/travel/flights/ and expand form there. Google Flights makes it easy to alter your airport searches if you’re flexible with your travel plans. • Flights and train travel throughout Europe are usually fairly cheap compared to U.S. You can fly from Florence to many other places in Europe for $200 or less. • Travel blogs like Rick Steves are a great resource to start researching into trip planning.

If you are planning on visiting Rome before or after the wedding weekend, you may want to anticipate it being busier than usual this year due to the Jubilee. The Jubilee is a Catholic Holy Year that takes place in Rome and Vatican City the entire year of 2025. Many people participate in pilgrimages causing an influx of tourism. I would suggest planning early and researching if there are specific events taking place during the timeframe you may want to travel to Rome.
