In early 2019, Josh was working at a local college bar, Fifth's, in Hammond. One night, Gi’s friend Alex dragged her out for a drink, and Gi met the bar’s manager that night and walked out with a second job. The very next evening, Gi showed up for her first shift... and met Josh! It didn't take long for Gi to develop a crush, so when the moment was right, she showed up to work one night with a fresh tan, new hair, and a new outfit, ready to shoot her shot. It worked ;) The moment they both admitted they liked each other, everything shifted. They became inseparable almost instantly, and Josh made it official on March 11, 2019. Since then, we've shared two homes, two fur babies, and a life filled with love, laughter, and late-night takeout.

Josh had always imagined something big and grand, but in the end, he planned a day that felt like them: simple, thoughtful, and full of quiet joy. Breakfast together, a round of mini golf, and dinner plans for the evening. After mini golf, Josh suggested stopping by Gi's grandfather's for a quick visit. She didn't think twice. After some time with family, the two wandered over to Gi's family prayer garden - a place built in memory of her father, and one of the most meaningful spots in her world. Josh had never met Gi's dad, and her late grandmother held a close place in both their hearts. Standing there in front of the Blessed Mother, surrounded by that love, he knew it was the moment. He got down on one knee, and Gi said yes before he could even finish the question.
