Giana and Matt met the “21st Century Way” ...online. Their profiles crossed in March of 2022 and then again in May on another dating app. On Sunday May 8th, (Mother’s Day) their story began. Giana messaged Matt and the talking never stopped. They instantly bonded over travel, history, family and their love of crab gravy or sauce which was highlighted on both of their profiles. A perfect match. Their first date was Saturday May 14th at an Italian restaurant called Luce in Giana’s hometown. So how did a Philly girl and a New York guy match? On their date, they quickly learned of the many coincidences that had influenced their match. Matt’s parents had moved from Staten Island to the Jersey shore. Covid brought Matt back from Florida and on the hunt for a new job. While crashing with his parents, he began a temporary job working in Philadelphia. His route to work had him driving past Giana’s house every day. Their close proximity is why their profiles were shown to one another. The list of coincidences goes on and on. On March 6th 2024, after almost two years of dating, Matt proposed in Haddonfield, NJ- a place of their first few dates that had become special to them.
