How we met

Blast from the past

Chrissy and Nathan's story starts in 2006. They first laid eyes on each other during track practice at Romulus High School. Nathan was a part of an AAU track team that would practice at Chrissy's schools gym. Neither of them thought much of it. They were in different grades, at different schools, and a part of different friend groups. However, that moment is the spark that led to a lunch invitation in the future. 10 years later, Nathan took a work trip to California and noticed (via Facebook) that Chrissy had moved to Los Angeles. Always the opportunist, he messaged her asking if she wanted to go to lunch. Thankfully she said yes! That first date, led to another, and another, until eventually they saw each other every day that week. Nathan returned home to Las Vegas determined to win over the heart of his black queen. The love blossomed and continued to grow despite the distance between them. In 2020, Nathan separated from the Air Force and moved to Los Angeles with a major goal on his mind. After a year of pandemic lock down there was no doubt in his mind that he will marry Christina and their dreams will become reality.

The Proposal

6/25/2021

Nathan knew he wanted the proposal to be special. He devised a plan to ensure she didn't suspect a thing. They arrived in Hawaii on June 25th with two different expectations. Chrissy thought she would be celebrating her 30th birthday, but Nathan wanted to leave with a fiance. Everyone was in on it! Her best friends and brother all had roles to play. They disguised the engagement as a 30th birthday photo shoot. The location was perfect! It was right on the beach, on Love Island in Hawaii. With the sunset as the backdrop, Chrissy walked along the beach until she began to smell fresh rose petals, and hear the sounds of John Legend. Taking in the scenery, she saw the words "Marry Me" spelled out in the sand. Chrissy thought- "Wow! Someone's proposal set up looks so good." Nathan turned to walk down the path and reached out for her to join him. She began to realize that this set up was for her. This moment was really happening!!! As her friends, family, and the beach audience began to crowd around- Nathan held Chrissy's hands and gazed into her eyes as he shared his feelings for her. He took a step back and dropped down to one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" She said yes! Chrissy was completely blown away! The moment was perfect! The ring was stunning and jaw-dropping gorgeous! Every single detail from the destination, beach sunset, incorporating her brother and best friends, the decor, and hiring a photographer to capture it all. It was all extremely thoughtful and he did an amazing job to make Chrissy feel special. After, they celebrated their love in Hawaii for the next 5 days.
