The Story

Paula and Matt met at a moment in life when both felt grounded, open, and ready for something real. Their connection was immediate and easy — built on long conversations, shared values, and a genuine enjoyment of each other that quickly grew into something deeper. After they had already started dating, Paula made a big leap: she decided to move from Washington, D.C. to San Diego to see if what they were building truly meant something. Together — with Mitch along for the ride — they packed up the car and drove cross-country, turning a huge life decision into an adventure and the first of many memories built side by side (and confirming they could survive long drives, navigation debates, and sharing snacks). Matt was drawn to Paula’s intensity, passion, and enormous capacity for love. Paula was drawn to Matt’s intelligence, thoughtfulness, and the way he leads with both heart and purpose. What followed was the intentional building of a shared life shaped by honesty, effort, and a lot of laughter. Their relationship is rooted in curiosity and care — for each other, for their families, and for the life they’re creating together. They love traveling, sharing great meals, and lingering at the table just a little longer. Their families have become part of their foundation, offering support, humor, and love they don’t take for granted. And of course, no version of their life would be complete without Mitch and Jazz, who keep things lively and remind them daily what unconditional love looks like. Somewhere between road trips, therapy sessions, big dreams, and quiet moments that felt surprisingly steady, it became clear this was more than romance — it was partnership. They’re getting married because life together feels richer, more grounded, and more fun. They’re excited to keep building a life filled with love, family, travel, meaningful work, and plenty of good food — and they’re so grateful to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to them.
