We met at a party at a mutual friend's house. One of my bridesmaids (Lexi) introduced us that night. We started with small talk, standing on a rocking log all night trying to balance without falling into the huge bonfire. Fun fact: I actually did fall and Logan somehow caught me. I ended up leaving the party without telling him goodbye and felt pretty bad about it. So I worked up the courage to DM him on Instagram (yes I was the one to make the first move). After that, we exchanged Snapchat names and Logan asked me on our first date...through a Snapchat lol.
At this point in our relationship, we were basically dating (according to Logan). I, on the other hand, thought differently. We had yet to make it "official" and that was something that was pretty important to me. I remember the day we made it official like it was yesterday. One of my bridesmaids (Kiyah) and I had been talking about whether or not we thought we were both in "official" relationships. She is dating Logan's Best Man, Tyler. They had just made things official a couple of weeks before and I was concerned that Logan and I hadn't even talked about that yet. We had all went to a Lake Party that day and I'll never forget what happened... I was asked by someone where my "boyfriend" was and I replied with "I don't have a boyfriend". Logan obviously didn't like that answer very much and immediately called me over to him. He then proceeded to TELL me that I was his girlfriend...not ask.
We had been dating for a while now and we were talking about going on vacation together. One day I got home from work, sat down on the couch, and Logan says to me "we're going on vacation in two weeks". Then he booked the plane tickets and I knew he wasn't kidding. We get to the hotel and literally EVERYTHING was going wrong for us. We couldn't check in on time, we didn't get the right room, when we finally got a room the AC wasn't working. The list goes on and on. The hotel we stayed at did their best to make our stay there as enjoyable as they could. We ended up getting a lot of our lunches/drinks/dinners compensated for. Our last night at the hotel, they told us they were going to do something special for us since we had so many problems. They said that we were going to get a romantic 3-course dinner on the house. So I was super excited and got all dressed up for the first time since we had been there. I ended up forgetting hairspray and asked if Logan could go down to the lobby and get me some. He was gone for the longest time and came back empty-handed saying that they didn't have any. (Turns out he never even looked for hairspray) He did have some news though. The hotel informed him that we were now getting a private ocean view dinner for two on the beach. We get outside and start walking to the beach and see that there is a table for two set up with candles in the shape of a heart in front of it. Logan and I both looked at each other and said: "well that's a little much" and sat in our seats. Our waitress offered to take our picture standing inside the heart in front of the ocean sunset. That's where Logan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in such shock and disbelief that I said: "what are you doing" at least 10 times before saying "yes". It turns out that Logan had this planned the entire time and did an awfully good job at hiding it from me. See you all in October 2021!
