Kate and Evan met four years ago and had their first date at Dessert Oasis in Rochester, Michigan. Incidentally, Kate and Evan were both Oakland University alumni and they both worked in the same hospital system as a nurse and medical student. While they don't remember much of the conversation (both Evan and Kate talk A LOT), they remember how special it felt to meet each other. It was cold and snowing outside — a simple kiss on the cheek from Evan before he would head back home to New York for Christmas. They excitedly spoke on the telephone while apart, and would eventually begin dating shortly thereafter. After Evan blew it and didn't propose on their lovely St. Croix vacation, he would eventually take a knee in the beautiful arboretum in Ann Arbor. Kate cried, of course. Since their first date, they've enjoyed many wonderful dates, vacations, graduations, and ceremonies together. Evan began his residency in radiology and Kate began working in the ICU, at the same hospital. Since then, Kate has started Nurse Practitioner school and is doing awesome. They live together with their minimally trained but wonderful dog Zoey (aka Zoe, aka Bo, aka Moe) and they have just enough rooms for all of Evan's drums and hockey equipment.
