On May 20,2016, Keriann roped all of her college roommates into going to the Rockville Centre Fire Department Installation Dinner with her for her birthday. She set each JMU friend up with a friend from the fire department with the help of her friend Eamon. Most set ups were not serious, except for her roommate Amanda. Both Keriann and Eamon thought Amanda would be a great match for Eamons friend Mark. They both loved the Rangers and the Giants, what could possibly go wrong? Thats what Keriann thought, until the night of the dinner when they did not speak one word to eachother. Keriann feeling bad that this was not going as planned, Keriann decided to talk to Mark. After Kerianns friends saw Mark and Keriann interact they all asked why Keriann didnt try to date Mark. However, Keriann said that would never happen. Fast forward to the next night, Mark invited Keriann and the "JMU roommates" out for a night a dark horse. Being that it was Kerianns birthday weekend, Mark bought Keriann a shot of Jameson, and you could say that the rest was history.

Mark and Keriann spent 9 days in the wonderful country of Ireland. On their Third day they left Galway and headed south to a castle for the night. They stopped at Dromoland castle with Keriann only knowing she needed to be dressed up at 4 pm. When 4 pm came around they were met by a Horse and Carriage that took them for a tour of the grounds. On the tour of the grounds they were told of a story of way back in the day the owner of the estate bet the entirety of his property on a horse race. The horse won the race and lived out the rest of its life. Upon its passing the owner buried his prized horse on a hill and built a monument to mercury honoring that horse. The Jarvey urged Keriann and Mark to walk up the hill and to take a look around. When they reached the top of the hill they were met by a Falconer and a Photographer. The Falconer asked Keriann (who is afraid of birds) to put on a glove and catch the Falcon. Little did Keriann know that the Falcon was holding her ring. Upon catching the Falcon Keriann refused to look at the bird and had to be told it had a present for her. The ring was taken off the bird and before Mark could get passed her name in his well prepared speech (Not!) she said YES!!
