Our ceremony took place on a platform called 'Awat Balam' and overlooked the beautiful Tiger Falls. Awat Balam means 'The Roar of the Jaguar' in the native Mayan language.

Our ceremony was led by a traditional Mayan H'men and incorporated the ceremonial traditions of his people.

After exchanging rings and vows, the H'men performed a traditional blessing and prayed over us.

Then we popped bottles to celebrate!

Next we traded our dress shoes for tennis shoes and hiked to the top of the waterfall.
