We met online. Yes, Tinder! Although we both felt sketchy meeting someone online, we both got lucky meeting each other in the circumstances we were in. I had a broken foot. Billy had a broken marriage. Don't worry he got divorced, Eventually! We were both looking for real love and just didn't seem to have any luck finding it, until that day of-course! I swiped right on a guy with the tag line "Army Veteran" not that it grasped my interest, but his profile picture in front of a bookshelf filled with books did. I always had a thing for nerds but could never find one sure enough of himself to believe that I did. So, Bill King became my next victim. To be honest, Bill didn't have such luxury to pick a girl according to specifics. He quite literally swiped right on all women that looked somewhat decent and waited to see if any made a match. The alert appeared finally on his phone, on a girl named Lizzy Omana. Me! "Good God!" He thought. "Maybe she accidentally swiped right?" Bill messaged me that day to see if maybe, just maybe, it wasn't a mistake. To his surprise it wasn't, and we spoke for hours on end, building anticipation to meet each other. I mentioned my circumstances and that I had been bed ridden for so long hinting that it would be nice to get out for once. Billy, not able to let a chance like that get away, met with me later that night, and we've been inseparable ever since.
Billy suggested that we celebrate the good news from my doctors appointment. My eye sight was clearing up and I wasn't going blind like I thought I was. I, not trying to make this a huge deal, suggested that we go home and just have supper like usual. Billy insisted that it would do me good and that I deserved it after a long anticipated fear. I agreed and tried my best to make this day a good one. As I got ready, Billy practiced his speech in Spanish. Something he'd been working on for a few days using the Duo Lingo app and the handy Google translate. He asked me to choose the fanciest restaurant that I knew of. So I chose Adelmo's Ristorante, and we became bankrupt, just kidding! We went in and got seated by a fancy french waiter. After we were done ordering, I excused myself and made it towards the restroom. I started to process everything in my mind and it started to become obvious to me that something was up Billy's sleeve. "This is ' the 'day!" I thought. I freaked a little then laughed, as I returned to the table. Billy pulled my chair and bent down on one knee. This is how the proposal went down, in-front of the fancy waiter dude... "I hate you!" I said. "So...No?" He asked "No, Yes!" I answered "No, you don't or yes, you do?" He asked again "What?" I asked confused "I asked-.." He started "No. Just start over." I said "I forgot how to say it." He said embarrassingly "What do you mean?' I asked "I was gonna' ask you in Spanish but you threw me off a little, now I forgot how you say it." He answered "Just ask me in English." I said trying to hurry it up "Ok. Do you wanna-?" He started again "No, not like that!" I interrupted "How then?" He asked trying to mess with me "Do you want to marry me?" I responded "Yes. I do" He said "No, ask me!..." I said "Ask you what?" He asked laughing "Never-mind. This is taking too long just put the ring on already!" I said "Te quieres casar conmigo?" He asked in his most gringo accent ever! "Si!!!!" I said finally.
