Need to Know & FAQs (Covid-19)

We have been hard at work in making thoroughly thought out decisions based on safety and love these past couple months. We want to be as transparent as possible to all of you. Although 2020 has been an unpredictable year for us, we have decided to go through with the wedding. We are lucky to have both the ceremony and reception outdoors. Please review the questions below and reach out to us if you have any other questions. We will continue to provide you all with the latest updates from our venue and county guidelines. Thank you all for your patience, love, and support during this time. We are excited to celebrate with you all. Love, Mel & Danny updated 7/26/20
Question

Why not postpone until next year?

Answer

Trust us, we have gone through each scenario in our heads of what could be, what should be. At this point, we will have been engaged two years and it is time to tie the knot. We understand that everyone's comfortability level is different and things are constantly changing. We will completely understand if you must decline due to covid-19 or other reasons. We whole-heartedly know in other circumstances we would be celebrating, no questions asked.

Question

What safety precautions are you taking regarding covid-19?

Answer

We are required by the venue to maintain a list of names, contact information of all participants. Guests are to bring masks and to wear them. Face coverings are required for all people attending the wedding, unless they are eating or drinking. All guests/households are to remain socially distant at all times. The seating charts will include: - one household per table with no more than 6 people per table - 6 feet between people of different households. - If you are coming alone, or in a household less than 6, you will be grouped with others you are comfortable sitting next to and will be considered a 'household.' We will be taking no-touch thermal temperatures at the welcome table. We are encouraging covid testing prior to this event. *We are also open to suggestions on safety.

Question

What is your guest count?

Answer

We are expecting 81 guests to come. Day of wedding, 10% of guests are expected to no-show. With covid 20% of guests are expected to no-show. We are expecting a much smaller number of guests confirming than originally planned. The venue (saratoga-springs.com) can hold a maximum capacity of 300 people. The venue specifically is called Long Bridge and is located all outdoors. For updates on Santa Clara County's current Public Health Order, please see the following link: https://www.sccgov.org/sites/covid19/Pages/public-health-orders.aspx

Question

What will the ceremony look like?

Answer

All guests are invited to the ceremony. There will 2 chairs spaced evenly 6 ft apart from each other, so guests can sit on either side of groom/bride. Additional seating will to be the side with picnic tables. Each household will need to be social distancing 6 ft apart and wear masks.

Question

What will the reception look like?

Answer

There will be food, drinks, and dancing! As of right now, the reception is allotted the total guest count. Each household will need to be social distancing 6 ft apart and wear masks. There is a 6 person maximum to a table. We will do our bests to seat everyone with those they are familiar and comfortable with. Please reach out directly to Danny if you have specific requests on seating. We have been told if you are not eating/drinking, you should be wearing a mask.

Question

I feel terrible to decline, but I am not comfortable coming.

Answer

If you’re no longer able to attend, we completely understand. You can update your RSVP anytime on our site, and we wish you health and safety during this difficult time. We will not be offended and definitely wish circumstances were different. We will love you no matter what and know we have our whole lives to make memories.

Question

I'm on the fence. When is the last date I can RSVP?

Answer

We are collecting RSVP's through September 1st. We understand some of you will need to coordinate travel or want to wait it out. If we do not hear from you by then, we will attempt to contact you. We are to notify the venue of the final count 30 days before our date.

Question

I want to come! What should I do?

Answer

Some of you have verbally reassured us that you want to come and cannot wait for this to happen. Please RSVP on this website to help us coordinate seating, expectations of what this event can look like. We want to plan and prepare to make this date special, safe, and fun. - Bring a mask, possibly some hand sanitizer. - We are encouraging getting tested prior to this event. - Please let us know if you have any positive symptoms and we will understand if you cannot make it last minute.
