On the evening of August 4th, Jeremy and Aiden anxiously awaited Laura Jo’s inbound flight at the DFW airport on her return from her annual mission to South Africa. After many international delays, short sprints through 4 different countries, Laura Jo made it home! Getting Whataburger and getting home were the only thing on their extremely tired gals brain. So, as requested, the Powell men took the weary traveler to Whataburger, and even let her rest in the car while they went inside to pick up the order. Elated, Laura Jo sits down at the kitchen table with the guys and wastes no time diving into her chicken strip meal. A shriek of pure joy comes from LJ when she opens her Chicken Strip box to find not one, but TWO gravy containers. Heck yes! What a treat after a long journey! Shorty after the magical discovery of TWO gravies, LJ realized that one of them was, in fact, the delicious sauce, but the other had something in it… which was NOT surplus gravy. With slight disappointment, she picks up the mysterious add and realizes it contains something hard. “Jeremy knows me to well! He must have gotten me a kids meal… and this is the toy!”, LJ states with rekindled excitement. Upon this discovery, she begins to remove the suspected “toy”, but with great difficulty, it was stuck! Aiden, her partner in crime, gave it a shot, and could not remove the unknown item either! LJ takes back the puzzle and begins to beat it on the kitchen table with hopes of setting her new prize free! Jeremy notices the continued failed attempts, and kindly removes the object from the gravy container and hands it back to LJ. With this seemingly anti-climactic prize, looks of confusion cover the faces of LJ and Aiden. When LJ opens her “kids toy”, it is then she learned that once again, she was incorrect. Jeremy had gotten her a full adult meal…. WITH A BEAUTIFUL ENGAGEMENT RING!! Aiden and LJ realized what was happening, at the same time, and tears of joy, shakes of nerves, and the pounding hearts began. YES!! LJ SAID YES to the most perfect engagement!!
