Getting to Toledo
The closest airport to Toledo is Madrid (MAD). There are a few options to get from Madrid airport to Toledo. If you're traveling in a group or can coordinate with others, private transfer or renting a car are the best options. Private transfer: It will take you about an hour and cost approximately €100. Your hotel in Toledo can also arrange a transfer. Ubers are also available from Madrid to Toledo (note: Ubers are not available from Toledo to Madrid, but your hotel will help you schedule a transfer). Public transportation: Go to Atocha railway station (20 mins drive from Madrid airport - around €30) [there is also a train from the airport, which takes around 30 mins and costs €2.60 each way]. From Atocha take the fast train (AVANT) to Toledo (35 mins - around €15 one way). When you arrive in Toledo, take a taxi from Toledo railway station to your hotel (10 mins - around €10, depending on where you are staying). Car rental: Madrid airport has numerous car rental companies. Driving from Madrid to Toledo takes about one hour and is a very smooth ride. There is ample parking at the recommended hotels in Toledo.
