The Wedding Website of Sara Gerstel and Chris Tye
Yes, a destination wedding in Mexcio! But listen, we love you, and we got you. Whether you're a seasoned traveller or a little adventure shy, we've been thinking of you while planning this journey. Please consult these FAQs while making your plans. We'll be adding to this page as we get closer to the day.
Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and La Paz International Airport (LAP) are equidistant from Todos Santos. **Shuttle services provided only for Los Cabos International.**

Question

What days should I plan to travel?

Answer

We'll be hosting a welcome party on Friday evening, the wedding and reception is on Saturday, and there will be a casual send-off brunch in town on Sunday. We recommend making Thursday and Sunday your travel days. That being said, consider this a call to vacation, go ahead and extend your trip as you see fit. There's lot's of ways to explore!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

If you'd like a "choose your own adventure" experience of Baja, we recommend renting your own car. A small SUV is also recommended as many roads in Todos Santos are unpaved. Our planners recommend Cabo SUV rentals, which you can find a link to in the "Lodging & Transportation" section. Otherwise, there are plenty of other rental car companies out of SJD and LAP If you would like to rent a car, driving to Todos is quite easy and beautiful during the day. Your Google Maps will work just fine, so follow the route it suggests. **You will need to have at least 200 pesos (10 USD) for tolls**

Question

Is there an Airport Shuttle service?

Answer

Guests will be responsible for their individual airport transportation fees, but we are here to assist with the booking. The airport shuttle service will be arranged through Todos Santos Private Transportation. Based on the travel information that you share with the service, you and other wedding guests will be organized into shuttle groups. Your pickup and drop-off schedule will be coordinated for you by the shuttle service in advance of your travels. Each shuttle costs $170 USD + tip, split amongst your shuttle group. Plan on one payment per shuttle, so please work with your assigned group to coordinate payment and Venmo each other if needed! TS Transportation will accept cash (USD or Pesos), PayPal, Visa, or MasterCard. Further questions? Please reach out to contact@tsprivatetransportation.com or one of our planners jayna@bajaweddingplanner.com

Question

How about a Shuttle service around town?

Answer

For those who prefer not to rent a car, Todos Santos Private Transportation is a car service we highly recommend, a direct link with more information can be found in the "Transportation & Lodging" section. They are available for travel within/around Todos Santos. **All guests will have complimentary shuttle pick up to and from all of the scheduled wedding festivities (welcome dinner, wedding, and send-off brunch). Pick up and drop off spots will be located at all of our pre-selected hotels. If you are considering a different hotel or air bnb, you will need to rent a car to get yourself around and to/from these pickup spots.**

Question

How about Taxis?

Answer

There are a few taxis within Todos Santos, but they are not abundant. The front desk at your hotel can help arrange taxi transportation for you if needed.

Question

What is the venue like?

Answer

The ceremony will be held inside a covered dome, so you will be out of the sun. The reception will be held in the corral on a dance floor to provide an even surface for our dancing tootsies, but there will be some lightly rugged terrain in between these spaces. The days will be warm with a refreshing breeze from the ocean. The nights will cool down with the ocean air, but shouldn't be too chilly. Please consult your favorite weather app when making your packing decisions. And if you run cold, when in doubt, always bring a lil cover up!

Question

Is the Welcome Dinner only for members of the Wedding Party?

Answer

No way! All of our dear guests are invited to the Welcome Dinner. This one will be on the beach, so please save your stilettos for another time (unless you're having a Katy Perry moment, in which case you do you boo). Otherwise, plan to have your toes in the sand and light sweater for the night time ocean air.
