Initially, we met through a mutual friend suggesting we would be a good couple. Thanks Anthony! We had our first date on October 17, 2017, where we met in person for the first time. Prior to that date we had been messaging each other for a little bit, trying to get to know one another. Our first date was to the local movie theater where we were planning on watching the remake of IT. However, I decided against it because I didn't want to have him see me be scared... So, I picked the Mountain Between Us thinking it would a suspenseful movie, but not girly cause I didn't want him to suffer. In retrospect we should definitely watched IT. If you haven't seen Mountain Between Us, save yourself the trouble. It was awful. In fact, it was so awful that I have no idea how he even wanted a second date with me for my choice in movies... But here we are today engaged! Love does conquer all!
He was very creative with the proposal. Katie, my sister and Maid of Honor, helped him wrap the ring box inside a box, inside another box, inside another box, and all these boxes had some form of thick electrical tape. I finally got down to the last box (still clueless on what was happening) and Katie suggested he help me with it. I had been struggling through wrapping paper and electrical tape, so I happily accepted the help. As he was "helping me with the box", I decided I was going to try and gather up the paper and tape mess. As I look back to see if he had opened the last box I saw he was on one knee with the ring box open. I didn't have the typical reaction that you'd think every girl would have... I kinda laughed (I think it was mostly because I was happy and shocked at the same time), then the laughing turned to crying (happy tears), along with me kind of falling over in my seat... I got back up after trying to compose myself (still teary eyed) and he asked me to marry him. It was a very special moment in which we got to share with most of my family.
