Turtle River is approximately 20 miles west of Grand Forks along Highway 2. The entrance is very visible from the highway with a large sign and flagpoles marking the entrance.
No. But you will need to stop in at the Visitor's Center as you enter the park to get a parking pass or you will be ticketed! Just let them know that you are a guest of the Germundson-Hermanson Wedding.
Both will be located at the Woodland Lodge. When you stop in at the Visitor Center to pick up your parking pass, they will be able to direct you to where you need to go. There is plenty of parking in and around that area of the park, so you should not have to walk far
We ask that you are dressed nicely, but still be comfortable. It will be hot at the end of July and most of the trails are not paved in the park. Dress for the weather and bring/wear walking shoes so you can enjoy the trails! The Woodland Lodge does have air conditioning, so you should be able to get some relief from the heat.
Yes. You can either stay at the campsites located in the park, or rent a cabin which is conveniently located near the Woodland Lodge. There are only a limited number of these available though! We recommend that most individuals stay in the city of Grand Forks, which is only ~20 minutes away. Information can be found in the Lodgings and Travel tab.
We would prefer not. Unfortunately, we don't have a good place to store your gifts at the Woodland Lodge. Also, we have been living together for years at this point...so we have most of what we need. Please see our "Honeymoon Fund" tab if you wish to get us a gift. A gift is not necessary, we are just happy to have you.
No. With an afternoon wedding and the majority of guests having to drive at least some of the way, we have decided not to serve alcohol. If you are 21+ you may bring alcohol for your personal consumption. Additionally, with our plans to wrap up relatively early, there are options in downtown Grand Forks to keep the party going if you would like to grab some drinks.
NO! There are flush toilets in the Woodland Lodge as well as the Visitor's Center.
