How the adventure began...

November 17, 2017

Kathryn was close to calling it quits for online dating as the holidays were quickly approaching. Bradley had just expanded his search to include single parents. To say that the timing was right is an understatement. Bradley noticed a picture of Kathryn with a hiking backpack and big ol' smile. He messaged her and after a few messages quickly jumped at the opportunity to take her to dinner. He did not want to miss out on this chance before heading to Texas for Thanksgiving. Kathryn was surprised at the quick date but was excited to meet him. His sense of adventure and those dimples caught her eye. After a 5 hour dinner, we had to end the evening. Bradley secured the second date at Top Golf and ensured her that after his Thanksgiving trip to Texas they would reconnect. Kathryn is NOT a golfer, but enjoyed the lessons that Bradley so patiently provided. Top Golf was a success and as they say, the rest is history!

Proposal

July 23,2021

Bradley had mentioned a few times about this great trail his friend had completed recently. He knows Kathryn will hike about anywhere for a great view, so we made a plan for after the Wolf family beach trip. After too much fun at the beach, we decided to reschedule our hike for a less crowded weekday hike. On Friday, July 23rd we arrived at the base of Table Rock. Boots on. Water bladders full. Hikers lunch packed. Hunter, the dog, was amped and ready to go. We hit the trail with a few stops along the way to start soaking up the views. We noticed that the smoke from the western US had made its arrival. Thankfully it didn’t impeed on the magnificent views at the top. At the top we could see for miles in nearly every direction. The Blue Ridge Mountains, which Kathryn refers to as ‘her mountains’ were beautifully blue. We sat down for lunch at the peak. Bradley had brought pre-packaged Belgian waffles. Kathryn wasn’t sold on a waffle on such a hot day without a cold glass of milk. After finding Bradley’s lost water bottle, he once again tried to sell her on this Belgian waffle. She agreed to take it but would eat it later. Hiding under the waffle was a ring box! Shocked and grinning ear to ear Kathryn said, “Really?” To which Bradley asked her open it. She put on the beautiful ring that Bradley had picked out. It was perfect! She then realized that Bradley hadn’t asked her to marry him. She said, “Are you going to ask me or do you already know?” He responded with “I already know.” We captured our memorable moment with a few pictures. Kathryn didn’t want anything to happen to the ring while hiking back down the mountain, so she took it off. During the hike back she decided that for Mr. Traditional not to “pop the question” wasn’t going to cut it. When they returned to the truck, she had Bradley ask her before putting the ring back on.
